FORGE Leadership Training
Our FORGE course provides a good foundation for anyone getting involved in street outreach at NightShift, or elsewhere. FORGE is a uniquely curated learning journey, designed to help equip you to reach out to people in need; and to lead well, with compassion, in any sphere of influence. Currently in an online format, the program consists of six sessions to build an understanding of the challenges our street friends face, and what we can do to help.
FORGE runs for six consecutive Mondays in Spring and Fall. The Spring 2023 series starts on 6th March. If you are new to NightShift, please register for a Volunteer Introduction session as a prerequisite for taking FORGE.

FORGE helps you to serve and lead well and provides you with reliable tools for your belt. The material will help you to understand street life and poverty and will build on those skills with communication, compassion and teamwork. You will meet people with expertise in addictions medicine and research, mental health, law enforcement, first response, and lived experience. These caring professionals will teach from their areas of expertise, providing you the most up-to-date, applicable information possible. Our online course modules include live presentations and an opportunity to interact in small groups. As a bonus, the program provides life-skills training that can be applied in any area of your life.
Our job is not done. There is a growing number of people in need all over our cities. It’s going to take an army of passionate, equipped people to reach them. It’s our job to empower you with the teaching and training you need to serve and make a difference.
It’s not much! There is an educational fee per adult of $60 (or $100 per couple) to help cover the cost of materials, including a participant’s guide, a copy of The Shift book, NightShift gear, a graduation certificate and more.
Sign up for our next FORGE training now. We look forward to seeing you online in March 2023!
