NightShift’s Annual Summer BBQ

The Annual Summer BBQ is one of our favourite events here at NightShift Street Ministries. This is when we gather folks from all corners of our community – volunteers, donors, supporters and friends on the street – for a time of fellowship, music, and of course, good eats right off the grill!

About 175 friends gathered in the NightShift outreach lot on Sunday, August 27, for a sunshiny  afternoon together. There were great live tunes (classic rock hits with a gospel twist!); a selection of gourmet sausages in a bun from our Taste of Heaven food truck; ice cream treats; lots of fun draw prizes; and tents and tables for socializing.

NightShift has always been about caring for the needs of others, and one of the ways we can do this is by enjoying fellowship together. When we tear down the walls that sometimes keep us apart, we find that we aren’t so different as human beings – all created by a loving God, and worthy of experiencing unconditional love. That is reason to celebrate, especially in a community as diverse as NightShift’s!

NightShift staff thank everyone who attended our special appreciation event. From our volunteers and donors to folks we serve on the street, together, we have been sharing of our lives, building healthy community and caring for the most vulnerable among us for more than 19 years.
