Explosion of Care

In addition to our night-time outreach, we’re always looking for day-time support to help with the ministry’s causes, to reach out in love and care and to ease the suffering of the poverty-stricken in our community. The North Delta Evangelical Free Church had their youth “Explosion” service project spanning the week and we were so thankful they were able to come out on multiple occasions to serve with NightShift’s dayshift. Summer is a great time for youth groups to be involved in our warehouse and in the community, and we gladly put the Explosion group to work to help tackle the mountains of clothing donations that have been collected at our premises and through the NightShift donation bins. Clothes were sorted for handing out to our street friends and subsequently the Clothing Truck was well stocked for its nightly delivery to people in need of support, hope and a change of clothes. On Wednesday, our newest outreach vehicle, the Care Bus, was the focus of the eager youth group and their leaders. The bus was in need of a good scrub and got just that when it pulled in to the NDEF Church parking lot. The team was well prepared with all the sponges, long reaching scrubbers, ladders, hoses… and enthusiasm! Everyone did a fantastic job and we sincerely look forward to having them serve again in the future. Jeremy AOK Team Leader & Summer Intern Thank you, Jeremy, we’ve loved working with you over the summer and look forward to you and your AOK team from Trinity coming out in the fall.
