Education and Programs

Daytime and evening initiatives at NightShift in Surrey
We are continually expanding our Education mission to include new programs and support groups to meet emotional, spiritual and practical needs of people in our community. Our programs welcome people in off the street to take advantage of care services, our Resource Centre and so much more.

INSIDE PROGRAMS
Welcome Centre DROP-IN
Launched during COVID and building strongly ever since, we opened our doors for people in the community to come in during the daytime to connect, chat, access support and engage with NightShift volunteers and each other.
Welcome in: enjoy a snack, warm up over a cup of hot chocolate or grab a cool drink when the temperatures are rising, and make new connections over a game of chess, dabble in an art project or catch up with a friend.
- DROP-IN days at the Welcome Centre are Mondays through Fridays (2-4 pm).
- Art Class is back by popular demand on Fridays (5:30-6:30 pm).
- Mobile Library hosted on the Third Tuesday (2-3:30 pm) during the summer.
- Check back for our Highlight Events, such as Movie or Sports Nights, and our Selah Women’s Events that celebrate International Women’s Day with a little pampering.
RECOVERY
On Purpose is a low barrier series of trauma-informed classes based on the core curriculum of RE:ACT. Drop-in sessions take place Mondays and Thursday (4:15-5:15 pm) to create awareness and to encourage participants to make small steps toward pursuing change in their lives.
ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT
Resource Centre
No matter what somebody’s situation might look like, the NightShift Resource Centre offers opportunity for empowerment by accessing available community resources. The Resource Centre aims to assist anyone and everyone, regardless of financial status, spiritual beliefs or personal circumstance.
Open Mondays-Fridays for one-on-one appointments: Please book an appointment or contact us for information.

CHRISTIAN FAITH
Bible Study & Church Services
All of the services at NightShift are provided in the spirit of the Christian faith. Public worship and prayer is offered along with our evening outreach. In addition, we have been facilitating weekly bible study since 2012 and inside church services since the pandemic. Designed to bring hope and love to all people who feel life is overwhelming and hopeless, and share how they are loved unconditionally by God!
- Evening Bible Study Group – Wednesdays (7:30-8:30 pm).
- House of Grace lunch and Bible Study – Saturdays (11:15 am – 2 pm).
- Bridges Bible Study, hot lunch, small Church Service – Sundays (10 am – 12:45 pm).
Alpha – Street Edition
ALPHA is for anyone interested in exploring the meaning of life. In a friendly and casual setting, meet new friends over a light meal, learn about intriguing topics of the Christian faith and join in the discussion.
Latest program is being hosted January-March 2026, on Tuesdays (5:30-7 pm).
“You have all made such a difference in my life. Maggie has changed the way I do my art…. It is so much better now! And, you just remembering my name, means so much. I am struggling through some big health concerns right now and this place means so much to me. The atmosphere is different here.” Jim
