NightShift’s 2022 Easter celebration dinner was special – to us and to the friends we serve. Of course, it was a time for a holiday great feast and chocolate treats. But it’s also about so much more. It’s about sharing the Hope that Easter brings, and building friendships, creating connections, and bringing people together through the simple, universal experience of enjoying good food together.
Last week, NightShift Street Ministries’ staff and volunteers shared a hot meal with about 225 friends experiencing homelessness, poverty, addiction and mental illness in Surrey and Langley.
With the faithful and generous support of kind-hearted volunteers, generous donors and sponsors, we were able to serve a very special Easter dinner made up of glazed ham, scalloped potatoes, mixed veggies and of course, cheesecake for dessert.
We enjoyed a clear, cool evening among friends, both new and old, sharing a meal, listening to live music, and expressing all that we felt grateful for this spring season – and most of all for the resurrecting power of love demonstrated by Jesus to each and every one of us.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude towards our community of support for making these celebration meals possible. Because of that care and kindness, NightShift was able to share love, hope and purpose with those who need it most this Easter.
