The Care Bus
On the road to recovery…
Formerly called the “Isaiah 61″ bus, our Care Bus seeks to “bind up the broken-hearted” and “set captives free” by meeting the needs of those we serve on the street.

The Care Bus was formally launched at the NightShift Gala of Light in November 2010. Years in the planning and months gathering expertise, training volunteers, and readying ourselves for take off, the Care Bus finally hit the streets on June 3, 2011.
Initially it will come alongside the NightShift mobile dinner service and clothing truck one night per week. Free access to the Care Bus is for anyone seeking a quiet place for prayer, referral information or counselling services on the road to recovery. There is an onboard library with resource materials that inform about addiction, recovery and mental or physical health issues. Volunteer nurses provide basic medical care and we plan to expand this to basic dental care.
Since it is a mobile unit, the Care Bus will be able to go to various locations, including recovery houses, to offer our services to those who would otherwise be unable to access them.
For further information on how you could become involved or to access the services for people in need, please contact info @ nightshiftministries.org or call 604.953.1114.
The Care Bus is operated through volunteer counsellors from The Care Centre, a division of NightShift Street Ministries Society.
